Critical Infrastructure Threat Landscape: Recent Attacks

Attackers are learning fast and several threat actors groups are specifically targeting Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and Operational Technology (OT), including devices such as PLCs and HMIs, used to control industrial processes.

The attacks are not yet destructive in terms of physical impact, yet they reveal telling security issues with many industrial and energy organizations: from devices exposed on the internet, over lack of asset management and insights into the attack surface, to inadequate access controls (no MFA or default passwords used).
